Position Summary

Assist with training, documentation, translating and partnering with Production Manager to lead specific areas as needed. It is preferred that the candidate be able effectively speak and read English and Spanish.

This position reports to the Production Manager

What You’ll Be Doing

Assemble subassemblies and/or final product following instructions from matrix documentation and SOP’s: place, wire, solder, glue, connect and encapsulate PC boards and/or test units. Test, label, package and deliver to stockroom. Retrieve from the stockroom any consumables needed in the area.
Function as an active member of a production performance team.
Continuous motion of hands and frequent lifting of light to medium weight material. Most work is done in a sitting position.
Continuous mental and visual attention requiring constant alertness to place, align and solder parts, and assemble units.
Enter all inventory/scrap transactions. Fix inventory discrepancies.
Train employees on standard work.
Assist with translating training documentation
Act as line of contact for all machine, fixture, and documentation issues.
Responsible for quality and defect and oversight in lead area- Conduct regular quality audits to ensure quality meets company standards
Responsible to meet shift production goals- Assist production manager in coaching employees to improve productivity while maintaining a positive work environment.
Communicate and work effectively with subassembly and product teams, other Group Leaders, Production Supervisors, Plant Managers and other personnel as needed.
Daily discussions with plant personnel regarding personnel moves to ensure proper coverage for absences.
Determine work assignments within lead area for optimal performance.
Partner with Production Manager to provide and deliver feedback on employee performance and performance reviews
Communicate with Production Analyst on all customer delivery requirements.
Responsible for implementation of lean and 5 S practices.

Required

High school diploma or GED
Ability to speak and read both English and Spanish.
Knowledge of safe machine operation practices.
Must be able to read and understand English
Knowledge of basic math/calculations.
Must be able to read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints, and/or schematics.

Preferred

Working knowledge of Oracle or Optel preferred

Physical Demands

Constantly bending neck to monitor machine operations, use scopes for precision work and perform inspections.
Frequently moves about the area to monitor the machine, set up reels, replace reels, etc.
Occasionally bends and stoops to retrieve some reel and perform some start up aspects.
Occasionally may crouch or squat to secure test fixtures in or remove from lift.
Constantly reaches at or below shoulder level to operate machine controls and hand tools, obtain parts and supplies, etc.
Occasionally stands stationary to load reels and panels, make adjustments, replace reels, etc.
Constantly lifting, holding and/or carrying various objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
